Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the eldest of four children. From a very young age, her dentist doctors parents and teacher mom supported her love of drama and theater. It was this love that trumps her first desire to become a primatologist. A quick and successful start to success as well as a swift rise in fame was a sign of her development as an actor. Prior to beginning an acting career Tautou took part in Jeunes Premiers a French talent search TV program sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. The program also awarded her the title of The award for the Best Young Actress at her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou attended church and the Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she is now separating herself from her childhood. In addition to her acting career she also pursued modelling. She modelled for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and has been referred as "The Chanel Muse". In addition to her acting career she is also interested in photography. She recently exhibited some of her photographs at the Arles Film Festival under the name Superficial. Her photos are mostly about famous people and celebrities. They also feature self-portraits as well. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her first role in Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie was a worldwide box office film that received acclaim at awards galas around the world. It's the largest French film in the history of French language to be made on the US. After this huge success, Tautou was later cast in a variety of films, which included British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
